This place used to be an amazing, cosy, friendly place! But not anymore... since the management changed hands things are going downhill fast! Gone are the beautiful Tamil film posters and antique furniture. Gone is the love and care the previous owner obviously invested in the place. I had booked a room and reconfirmed the day of my arrival. But when I arrived the manager was giving the last room to someone else! I was very sad to see the state of things! Friends in Pondy told me that what happened was the owner of the house had not renewed the lease and instead decided to run the place himself and take advantage of the fact that Ganga is now in all the guidebooks and very much on the backpacker's trail. But he doesn't have the same eye for detail or professionalism as the previous manager.
